Joe Clementi, a legacy photographer now living in the greater Philadelphia region, ran a thriving NYC commercial studio out of the Flower District of Manhattan for 20+ years. Through it all Joe had front row seats to the calm and chaos of the 1970s to 1990s street scenes; red carpet events, fashion runways, nightclubs, seedy Times Square aka the red light “Deuce” in the 70s, the Minnesota Strip, Eighth Ave, the Arts Scene, and the everyday quotidien of the vibrance and grit of New York.

Joe’s photographs are unabashedly full of excitement and curiosity, and show the dynamic personalities that pushed through the hard city streets to create an energy unmatched since. Joe will be giving a talk about his life as a photographer and his inspirations from that time that inform his newer work focusing on imagery of buildings and people around the Philadelphia area in the deadpan tradition.
